Assistant Professor and recent TED alumnus Duane Elverum will pose this question to his Foundation level students this week. Duane’s FNDT108 Creative Processes class will construct QR codes out of building blocks in an open class at QR_U on Friday, December 9th. Duane is interested in the relationship/difference between competition and collaboration in creative work.
Within an education system that is fundamentally defined by individual success, but in which collaboration is now a key outcome for higher learning (the idea of doing more together than we could do alone), How does the art and design institution navigate this relationship between competition and collaboration? What has been your own experience with collaboration and competition in relation to creative work?
